Comments: Abbie E Royce (Nee: Wade) | Stowe VT United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph of Abbie WADE (Mrs. Andrew ROYCE) which was taken at the E. P. Dunshee Studio in Boston, MA and dated 1877. Abbie is also identified as "Cousin" and appears to be in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Abbie and her family:
Abbie E. WADE was b. 12 Aug 1853 in Stowe, VT to parents George Smith WADE (1822-1910) and Mary M. CLOUGH (1824-1912) who were married 1 Nov 1845 in Lowell, MA. Abbie was one of 5 children born to this couple including George A.; Abbie E.; Jessie B.; Elmer Ellsworth or Elsworth; and Mary Georgiana “Georgie” WADE, all born between 1847 and 1870. Abbie married Andrew Alvin ROYCE (1861-1941) on 19 Sept 1882 in Moretown or Stowe, VT and she died in 1909 and is buried in the Riverbank Cemetery in Stowe, VT.
