Comments: Elizabeth Stein (Nee: Stauffenberg) | Joliet IL United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph of Lizzie STAUFFENBERG STEIN with an unidentified male. The photograph was taken at the G. F. Gale Studio in Joliet, IL, most likely in the 1880's and 1890's. Lizzie appears to be in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken. I believe that the man in the photograph is her husband, Henry STEIN. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Lizzie and Henry and their families:
Elizabeth “Lizzie” or “Elise” STAUFFENBERG was b. 10 Apr 1866 in Frankfort, IL to parents Henry or Heinrich Charles STAUFFENBERG (1840-1915) and Philippine or Philippina “Phoebe” RAHM (1840-1929) who were married in 1863. Lizzie was one of 9 children born to this couple including William Heinrich or Henry; Elizabeth; Amelia or Emilie; Charles “Charley”; Albert; Marie “Mary”; Julius Henry; Edward Alvin; and Arthur “Ardie” C. STAUFFENBERG who were all born between 1864 and 1886.
Lizzie married Henry L. or O. STEIN (1865-1945) on 10 Oct 1889 in Green Garden Township, Will County, IL, and they had 7 children including Albert; Norma A.; Verna M.; Bernice; Florence E.; Helen; and Geneva W. STEIN, all born between 1891 and 1901. Lizzie died 12 Jun 1938 in New Lenox, IL and she was buried in the Woodlawn Memorial Park II Cemetery in Joliet, IL. Henry STEIN was b. 1865 and died in 1945 and is also buried with Lizzie in the Woodlawn Memorial Park II Cemetery in Joliet, IL.
I would like to get this photograph bask to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be.
Thanks,
Shelley
