Comments: Johanna Caroline Deane (Nee: Francoeur) | Franklin MA United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph of Mrs. Oliver DEANE which was taken at the W. G. Adams Studio in Franklin, MA. Mrs. DEANE appears to be in her 60's or 70's at the time the photograph was taken in the 1860's. I believe that this is a photograph of Johanna Caroline FRANCOEUR DEANE or DEAN (1790-1866) who was Oliver's first wife.
Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Mrs. DEANE and her family:
Johanna Caroline FRANCOEUR was b. 26 Dec 1790 in Wrentham, MA to parents Jean Baptiste FRANCOEUR and Caroline PLYMPTON or PLIMPTON (1759-1827). Johanna was one of 6 children born to this couple including Harriet; Louis; Harlot; Johanna Caroline; Maria Sebastian; and John FRANCOEUR, all born between 1784 and 1798.
Johanna married Oliver DEAN or DEANE MD on 19 Sept 1811 in Wrentham, MA and she died 27 Oct 1866 in Franklin, MA. Her husband Oliver was b. 18 Feb 1783 in Franklin, MA to parents Seth DEAN (1780-1834) and Edene POND (1763-1852). Oliver was one of three children born to this couple including siblings Tryphena DEAN (1785-1813) and Sylvester DEAN (1790-1878).
After Oliver’s father died his mother remarried and two additional children were born including William HILL MD (1808-1846) and Asa Daniels HILL (1815-1884). Johanna was Oliver’s first wife; his second wife was Louisa HAWES COBB (1815-1902) who he married 1 Jan 1868 in Franklin, MA. Oliver died 5 Dec 1871.
