Comments: Freddie Thomas McCaughey (Nee: ) | NJ United States | 1901-1920 | Comments: I have a beautiful old portrait identified as Margaret (age 7), Dorothy (age 5), and Freddie (age 3) taken in Peapack, NJ in July 1910. There is no surname written on the photograph just the first names and ages along with the location. Based on limited research I was able to determine that this was a photograph of the MCCAUGHEY Children taken on their front porch in Peapack, NY and I gathered the following additional information:
Margaret Elizabeth MCCAUGHEY was b. 28 Nov 1908 in New Jersey to parents Charles Frederick MCCAUGHEY (1883-1970) and Ella E. BELLIS (1887-1959). Margaret had two siblings including Dorothy E. MCCAUGHEY (1909-2006) and Frederic Thomas MCCAUGHEY (1911-2002).
Margaret married Floyd Wilton “Duff” CARLEY (1907-1979) on 5 Jul 1931 in New Jersey. They had two daughters including Deirdre CARLEY RICKEY VASS (1935-1992) and one other. Margaret died 28 Aug 1988 in Parsippany or Madison, NJ.
Frederic “Fred” or “Freddie” Thomas MCCAUGHEY was b. 1911 in Peapack, NJ to the same parents. Fred married Janette “Jane” Irene MCMULLAN (1914-1989) in 1940 in New Jersey and they had three sons, including Charles Craig MCCAUGHEY (1942-2001) and two others, and also a daughter Margaret Jane MCCAUGHEY (1953-2001).
Fred died 20 Jan 2002 in Raritan, NJ and he is buried in Saint Bernard Cemetery and Mausoleum in Bridgewater Township, Somerset County, NJ.
The MCCAUGHEY Family was living in Bedminster Township, Somerset County, NJ in 1910 with Charles identified as born in New York to parents born in Ireland. Charles was listed as a Horseman/Trainer. Ella was listed as born in New Jersey to parents who were also born in New Jersey. In 1920 the family was recorded in census records living in the same place with Charles employed as a Farm Manager.
Still living in the same location in 1930 Charles was work as the Superintendent of a Private Estate and Margaret his daughter was a Horse Trainer at the same Private Estate.
