Comments: Irving Fencl (Nee: ) | Cleveland OH United States | 1901-1920 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph of four children identified as Jim, Dorothy, Eleanore, and Irv FENCL. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with the four children appears to be from about 1 year old to 8 years of age. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family: James Charles FENCL was b. 13 Feb 1906 in Cleveland, OH to parents Vaclav James “Jim” Charles FENCL (1879-1943) and Mary Lillian LAWFOR or LAFFAR or BRABENEC (1881 or 1882-1939) who were married 7 Feb 1905 in Cuyahoga County, OH. The couple had 10 children including James; Dorothy Josephine; Elinor or Eleanor or Eleanora; Irving; Kathleen C.; George Charles; Raymond Lawrence; Clarice Albina; Roy; and Marilyn J. FENCL, all born between 1906 and 1924. His mother Mary was married previously and had three additional children including Frank J.; Joseph, and Thomas Stephen MANAK all born between 1904 and 1906. James married twice, first to Bessie Bertha VASKO (1905-1999) and they had two children including a son Melvin James FENCL (1931-2012) and a daughter. His second marriage was to Helen F. HORACEK (1906-1987) and he died 5 Dec 1978 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and is buried in the Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland, OH. Dorothy Josephine FENCL was b. 15 Sept 1908 in Cleveland, OH to the same parents and married George L. HINEMAN (1901-1970). They had two sons, George L. “Big Daddy” HINEMAN Jr. (1934-2022) and Peter Mark HINEMAN (1947-2021) plus three others. Dorothy died 5 Aug 1994 in Mesa, AZ and is buried in the Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan, OH. Irving “Irv” FENCL was b. 25 Aug 1913 in Ohio to the same parents and he married June M. and died 1 Oct 2004 in Ohio. Eleanor FENCL was b. 26 Sept 1910 in Ohio to the same parents.
