Comments: Mary Emily Welfling (Nee: Erway) | Harrison Valley PA United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph of Mary E. ERWAY of Harrison Valley, Potter County, PA which was taken at the Baileys Normal School Gallery in Mansfield, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the late 1890's or about 1900 with Mary appearing to be in her teens or 20's at the time the photograph was taken.
Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Mary and her family:
Mary Emily ERWAY was b. 7 Mar 1880 in Brookfield, PA to parents Andrew Jackson ERWAY (1847-1935) and Martha Anne BOWMAN (1849-1908) who were married 30 Oct 1870. Mary had two full siblings, Lewis Stanley or Samuel ERWAY (1872-1949) and William Bowman ERWAY (1874-1944). It appears that a baby girl was also born and died in 1871.
Mary married Rudolph Orlando WELFLING (1877-1918) on 6 Jul 1904 in Belmont, NY and they had a son, Weldon Woodrow WELFLING (1912-1978). Mary died 21 Feb 1974 in Beachwood or Shaker Heights, OH and is buried in the Eulalia Cemetery in Coudersport, PA.
