Comments: Schwanke (Nee: ) | Mankato MN United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: These two ladies are believed to be descendants of Frederick Schwanke or his brother Daniel Gottlieb Schwanke who settled in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin after arriving from Germany. The ladies are dressed in the style of the 1880's. The photographer, Eldridge only worked in Mankato with various partners from 1884 to 1888, so this narrows down the possibilities. I would really like to put names to these two ladies. i just haven't been able to figure out where they fit in the Schwanke family tree. This photo was in a collection I inherited from my Schwanke grandmother.
