Original recovered from an antique store near Springfield, MO.
John Defoe was born 05 April 1869 to William Bacon Defoe (1838-?) and Emily C. Hart (1843-?) in Russellville, Cole, MO. He first married Amanda Webb 24 April 1887 in Cole, MO and then in approximately 1910, he married Jessie R Lane (1880-1963).
On 15 March 1915, at the age of 45, John committed suicide by drinking carbolic acid and his wife found him shortly after but was too late. They had one daughter, Gladys Gertude (1912-1966) and Jessie was pregnant with Roy N Defoe (1915-1980).
