Comments: Pierre Louis Francois Leveque Vilmorin (Nee: ) | France | 1835-1850 | Comments: This picture of Pierre Louis Francois Leveque de Vilmorin appears on page 81 of The American Breeders Magazine, vol.1, no.2, 1910. Please see that reference for more details. There is a biographical sketch of him on pages 82,84 of that volume. Pierre was born in 1816 and died in 1860. He is descended from one of the oldest families in the province of Lorraine (the families records track back to 1633). In 1843 he took over the family business (the Andrew Vilmorin Company in Paris, France). That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
