James emigrated with his family in 1859 to New York City. James H Perry Enlisted as a Private on 13 May 1861 at the age of 18 Enlisted in Company K, 79th Infantry Regiment New York on 28 May 1861. Received a disability discharge Company K, 79th Infantry Regiment New York on 08 August 1861 Probably wounded at the Battle of Blackburns Ford July 18 or Battle of Bull Run July 21. His family moved to Providence RI. James married Mary C. Fairman Nov 10, 1874 in Council Bluffs. He like his father was a shoemaker. After raising a family in Council Bluffs IA, he returned to RI. In 1900 Census,Central Falls Providence Co RI. I am nterested in more information regarding James Perry and his family.
