Comments: William Warfield (Nee: ) | KY United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: This picture of William Warfield appears on page 7 of The American Breeders Magazine, vol.II, no.1, 1911. Please see that reference for more details. There is a biographical sketch of him on pages 8-9 of that volume. William Warfield's grandfather Elisha Warfield moved from Annapolis, MD to near Bryant Station, KY. Elisha's son, Benjamin Warfield was a breeder of shorthorn cattle. Benjamin's son, William Warfield (whose picture is shown here) was born in 1827. William Warfield also took up shorthorn cattle breeding and spent most of his life on his farm "Grassmere," which was in the bluegrass region. He wrote a history of improved shorthorn cattle. William Warfield died in 1907. That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
