Comments: Luther Burbank (Nee: ) | Santa Rosa CA United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: This portrait of Mr. Luther Burbank appears on page 220 of The Canadian Horticulturist, vol.25, no.6, June, 1902. There is a brief biographical sketch of Mr. Burbank of pages 220-222 of that volume. Please see that reference for more details. Mr. Burbank was born in Massachusetts in 1849. He became very involved in agriculture and specifically plant hybridization. He developed the Burbank potato. He moved to California in 1875. He lived in Santa Rosa. According to wikipedia he died in 1926. That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
