Comments: William Andrews Krise (Nee: ) | Bellefonte PA US | 1851-1900 | Comments: Great-grandfather of submitter.William Andrews Krise, son of Samuel and Dorothy Padget Krise, was born 26 Sept. 1836, in Spring Mills, Center, PA. - two miles from Bellefonte. He entered Jefferson College in 1857 and was graduated 7 August 1861 (yearbook picture). He wed Nannie E. Hunt of Cannonsburg, PA, on 29 Jan 1862. They moved to Johnstown, Cambria, PA, where Mr. Krise taught school, then back to Center, back to Johnstown, and finally to Center County, where he taught and became Superintendent of Public Schools. He farmed, lumbered, and taught. He retired from education after 38 terms. He also served in the U.S. Navy. He had one son, Warren Samuel Padget Krise. William Krise was a member of Old Fort Lodge 537 and the Bellefonte Chapter No 241 Royal Order Masons. He died 22 June 1920 in Center Hall,PA, where he is buried.
