Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

Please help us keep DeadFred alive. 90% of our expenses are supported by donations averaging $5. Not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, our fundraiser would be done by the time you finish reading this. That's right, the price of a large can of soda would do it.

If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: John Ryan (Nee: ) | St. John's NL Canada | 1921-1940 | Comments: This is a photo of my father's parents taken around 1930 in St. John's, Newfoundland. My grandmother died a few months after my father was born in 1933 and he was raised by her family. They didn't allow him any contact with his father so there is very little information about my grandfather. The only thing I am sure of is that his name was John Ryan. The rest of this information I'm not sure of: 1. I'm guessing he was in his early 20's in this photo. 2. His middle name was Joseph - it definitely begins with a J because I have a pair of his engraved cufflinks. 3. He was probably from Bell Island, Newfoundland. 4. He moved to the United States (maybe New York) around 1948. His mother might have accompanied him. I would love to find out what happened to my grandfather and if he remarried, to find and contact family members.
