This photo shows Harris wearing his GAR medal and a reunion ribbon for the 153rd New York Infantry. William M. Harris served as a private in Co. H, Seventh New York Cavalry, from Nov. 6, 1861, to Mar. 31, 1862, when honorably discharged; and then as sergeant in Co. D, 153rd New York Infantry to Oct. 2, 1865.
