Comments: Claude Wesley Cosby (Nee: ) | Joplin MO | 1901-1920 | Comments: Claude Wesley Cosby, son of Austin Redding Cosby and wife, Amanda Blackerby Cosby, was born in Joplin, MO, in 1890. His mother died of TB in 1904. This picture was taken in 1907. He was a Nazarene lay minister, a farmer, and eventually, a sheet metal man in Long Beach, CA. He married Alberta Cecil Flewelling in Storm Lake, IA, in 1911. They had 5 children. In 1924, they left their home in Cedar Springs, near Grand Rapids, MI, and drove their family in their Model T Ford to Porterville, CA, where the family lived for more than 15 years. They then moved to Long Beach, CA, and subsequently, Bellflower. Claude died in 1961.
