Comments: Clair Warren Bruce (Nee: ) | United States | 1901-1920 | Comments: I have an old postcard photograph of Albert Dexter BRUCE (age 5 years) and Clair Warren BRUCE (age 6 months) which appears to have been taken some time between 1915 and 1920. There is no studio or location identified, however the following notes appear on the back "Overlooked these had them since May" signed Mayme; then "Bruce's will keep this". Appears to have been gifted to "Aunt Julia, Merry Christmas & Happy N. Year". Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding these children and the family:
Albert Dexter BRUCE was b. 6 May 1913 in Rhame, ND to parents Harry Levi BRUCE (1877-1936) and Mary “Mayme” Emily DARNALL or DARNELL (1886-1939). Albert was one of four children born to this couple including Albert Dexter; Roy Allen; Clair Warren; and Harry Leroy or Le Roy BRUCE, all born between 1913 and 1926. Albert died 3 May 1944 in Los Angeles County, CA and is buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, CA. Clair Warren BRUCE was b. 25 Oct 1917 in Rhame, ND and died 8 Feb 1933 in Rhame, ND and is buried in the Tuttle Cemetery in that city.
Mary E. DARNELL or DARNALL was b. Oct 1866 in South Dakota to parents Allen Irving DARNALL (b. 1854) and Lavina Margaret WRIGHT (b. 1857). Mary had two siblings including Edna June DARNELL (b. 1881) and Roy Edward DARNALL (1884-1979).
