His parents were Ralph Chester Starr Sr. and Katie (Stichler) Starr. They lived on old Wade Road and Ralph was a miner at Wadesville Colliery. Chester was the oldest of 10 children ( Chester, Robert, Eva, Mabel, Raymond, Clyde, Mildred, Dorothy, Grace & Harold). Chester served in the Army during WWII. All five brothers served in the Army--Raymond was MIA in 1943. After the war Chester married Kitty Allen Davis and lived in East Mines.
