Henry was born August 1, 1906 in Isabella County, Michigan. He was the fifth child born to Jay J. and Mary E. Vincent Purdey. Henry married Lorna Beatrice Yats on November 23, 1927 at the Gilmore Church of Christ in Montcalm County, Michigan. Over the course of their 16 year marriage, Henry and Lorna had eight children. Twenty-six years after the death of his first wife, Henry married Ethel Kay Jones on March 15, 1969. Unfortunately, Ethel also preceded Henry in death. Henry died on October 27, 1977 and is buried next to his first wife at the Gilmore Township Cemetery in Isabella County, Michigan.
