Comments: G. C. Creelman (Nee: ) | Canada | 1901-1920 | Comments: This picture of Mr. G. C. Creelman appears on page 11 of The Canadian Horticulturist, vol.XXVII, no.1, January 1904. There is biographical information on him on pages 12-13 of that volume. Please see that reference for more details. Mr. Creelman was born in the town of Collingwood, Ontario, Canada on the 9th of May 1869. His parents were both from Nova Scotia. His mother was of Scottish ancestry, while his father's forebears came from the north of Ireland. When he was nine yrs old his family moved to a fruit farm in Collingwood township in the county of Grey and there he spent his youth. He attended Collingwood Collegiate Institute and then the Ontario Agricultural College --from which he graduated in 1888. He took a job as a biology teacher at the Stae Agricultural and Mechanical College of Mississippi, USA. He later returned to Canada. In 1892 he married Ada Mills (oldest daughter of Dr. James Mills --President of the Ontario Agricultural College in Canada). That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
