Dead Fred's Genealogy Photo Archive, a free, fun photo genealogy research web site devoted to helping you visualize your heritage!

Dear readers,

We need your help. 90% of our expenses are covered by donations averaging $10, though not many visitors contribute. If each visitor reading this right now gave $2, we would have enough to operate DeadFred for a year. That's right, the price of a bottle of soda would do it. If DeadFred is helpful to you, please take a moment to help us. We are a very small group of volunteers serving thousands of readers daily with very little outside support. DeadFred is a place to share and discover the faces of your ancestors. The funds we receive go toward maintaining and improving your chances of discovery. Please help us so we can continue to help you.

Thank you,
Joe Bott

Comments: Robert Bakewell (Nee: ) | England | 1901-1920 | Comments: This picture of Robert Bakewell appears on page 161 of The American Breeders Magazine, vol.1, no.3, 1910. Please see that reference for more details. There is a biographical sketch of him on pages 160-162 of that volume. Robert was born in 1725 and died in 1794. He was born at Dishley, Leicestershire, England. He was primarily a breeder of sheep but also worked with horses, swine and cattle. The portrait shown here was loaned to the American Breeders Association by Mr. Richard Gibson of Delaware, Ontario, Canada who also seemed knowledgeable about the facts of Mr. Bakewell's life. That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
