Comments: Joseph Gottlieb Koelreuter (Nee: ) | Germany | 1901-1920 | Comments: This picture of Joseph Gottlieb Koelreuter appears on page 158 of The American Breeders Magazine, vol.1, no.3, 1910. Please see that reference for more details. There is a biographical sketch of him on pages 159-160 of that volume. Joseph was born in 1733 and died in 1806. He seems to have grown up in Germany and received a doctorate in medicine from the University of Tubingen in 1756. He later went to Russia and served in the Imperial Academy of Science at St. Petersburg. He left Russia in 1761 and moved to Calw. That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
