Comments: John H. Wallace (Nee: ) | | 1851-1900 | Comments: This picture of John H. Wallace appears on page 83 of The American Breeders Magazine, vol.1, no.2, 1910. Please see that reference for more details. There is a biographical sketch of him on pages 84-85 of that volume. Wallace was born in 1822 and died in 1903. He was born and brought up in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He left there at age 17 and settled in Muscatine, Iowa in 1846. He became involved in the Iowa State Agricultural Society. He is most famous for his work in creating the American Trotting Horse. That is all the information I have on this picture. I am not researching this line, just saw the photo and thought I'd post it.
