Bragdon appears on page 381 of Moore's Rural New Yorker, vol.XXXIV, no.24, whole number 1402, 9 December 1876. There is a brief obituary of him on that page. See that reference for more details. He was an agricultural journalist. He was an editor of Moore's Rural New Yorker (1864-1865) and also for a time worked on the staff of the Prairie Farmer published out of Chicago. He worked for other publications as well. He was a native of Port Ontario, NY, where his father was a leading farmer. Charles D. Bragdon died Thanksgiving Day, 30 November 1876 at Port Ontario, Oswego County, NY at age 47. That is all the information I have on him.
