See that article for more information. Mr. Read's father was formerly a manager in the Bank of Montreal and also an officer at Fort Erie in 1837. Mr. E. H. Read was a banking and business man. He also became very involved in growing flowers, fruit and vegetables. He was at one time Secretary of the Grimsby Horticultural Society in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada. This is all the information I have on him.
