Monroe, Geneva, New York, 1912. See that title for more information. Dr. James Chester Knapp was born at Drennon Springs, Kentucky, 25 November 1853. His father was Rev. James C. Knapp. His mother was Caroline Adgate Knapp. J. C. Knapp received a small legacy from his father and used the money to pay for an education. In 1879 he graduated from Syracuse University. He completed his medical studies in 1884. In 1887 he married Alice S. Reynolds. In 1894 he became head of the Hygienic Institute in Geneva, NY. He died 11 December 1909.
