Comments: Paul Jacobs (Nee: ) | CA United States | 1961-1965 | Comments: Paul was an author, journalist, editor, teacher and a radical campaigner who died Jan. 3, 1978 of cancer caused by radiation poisoning. He was instrumental in documenting atomic fallout in Nevada during the 1950's and 1960's atmospheric tests by the U.S. military and its effects on down-winders and soldiers used as atomic guinea-pigs ("Paul Jacobs and the Nuclear Gang") [see also James M. Gates]. To verify hotspots in the desert, he took a geiger-counter to locate them and contracted the radiation. He was born Aug. 24, 1919. At death, was most likely cremated.
