COCHENNOUR: A CDV of (period ink identification ) Captain John S. Cochennour of Company H, 60th Illinois Infantry. Information from a series of books dealing with the medical history of the Civil War, Captain Cochennour was wounded on Sept 1, 1864. His wound was in the lower extremities and surgery was done on his "left circ." He was discharged on 12-14-1864. This information was found in Vol. X11, page 482. No backmark. (NOTE: There are several Civil War records on Ancestry.com for this man.)
