"The picture shows a military ceremony . The two military in front are : in the left , young King Mihai I of Romania and in the right , Marshal Ion Antonescu (nicknamed " The Red Dog ") , the fascist ruler of Romania during WW II . They were enemies one-other because Marshal thought that King Mihai I is an immature boy and King Mihai I thought that Marshal Ion Antonescu ignored him . On 23rd of August , when Russians entered by force in Romania (during a large military offensive) , King Mihai I arrested Marshal Ion Antonescu who wanted to fight together Nazi Germany till the end of war ! Romania that day turned weapons against Germany and this way the WW II was shorted with 6 months ! In the back , can be seen the guard of honor composed by a Romanian infantry company . I think this photo was taken during an inspection on Eastern Front.
