He was honorably discharged from the US Marine Corps while holding the rank of Private at Philadelphia, PA on May 31st, 1919 by reason of Special Order of the Major General Commandant for the convenience of the government with character "excellent". Howard Serrin was a Sharpshooter for the US Marine Corp. His military efficiency was listed as "Excellent", his obedience as "Excellent", and his sobriety as "Excellent". He was awarded a "Good Conduct Medal" #61472 effective from date of discharge. He lived in Seabrook, MD, and his occupation was a "Machinist" before he became a Marine. The honorable discharge was administered on July 25th, 1925. He was born August 3rd, 1898 in Mt. Alto Hospital in Washington DC. He died in Veterans Hospital, 2650 Wisconsin, Washington DC. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, World War Section.
