Comments: Lewis Alvin Mudd (Nee: ) | Buffalo NY United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have a group of four old studio photographs belonging to the MUDD Family of New York. The photographs in this group include: #1 – Ross MUDD, taken at the Smith’s Studio in Lockport, NY, 1880’s, about 3 years #2 – “The MUDDS”, taken at the Scherer Studio in Buffalo, NY, 1880’s or 1890’s, three children about 5 to 9 years old (oldest is female – likely the three oldest MUDD children) #3 – Unidentified boy, taken at the Smith’s Studio in Lockport, NY, 1870’s or 1880’s, about 3 years old (likely the oldest male MUDD child – Louis Alvin) #4 – Unidentified female, taken at the Stacy Studio in Lockport, NY, 1870’s or 1880’s, about 3 years old (likely the oldest MUDD daughter – Eva Gertrude) Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding these family members: Eva Gertrude MUDD was b. 22 May 1879 in Cambria, NY to parents Thomas Fawn MUDD (1854-1898) and Ellen L. CRIST (1854-1893). Eva was one of four children born to this couple including Eva Gertrude; Lewis Alvin; Ross Cyrus; and Willis Nord MUDD, all born between 1879 and 1890. Eva married Frederick “Fred” CRAMER and they had a daughter, Helen L. CRAMER RICHTHAMMER (1903-1962). Eva died 27 Oct 1959 in Buffalo, NY and is buried in the Buffalo Cemetery in Cheektowaga, NY. Ross Cyrus MUDD was b. 2 Mar 1883 in Cambria, NY to the same parents. Ross died 4 Nov 1949 in Buffalo, NY and is also buried in the Buffalo Cemetery in Cheektowaga, NY. Lewis or Louis Alvin MUDD was b. 2 Aug 1881 in Lockport, NY to the same parents. Lewis married Eudora Maude VAIL (1883-1962) on 21 Mar 1906 in Amherst, NY. Lewis died 11 Jun 1956 in Erie County, NY and is buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY.
